The Retreat, Elcot Park - Newbury

Elcot Park Hotel has undergone a complete refurbishment and is relaunching as ‘The Retreat’; a newly re-imaged 18th-century country house hotel and community beacon, in 16 acres of magnificent grounds, and located between Hungerford and Newbury in the heart of the beautiful West Berkshire countryside with breath-taking views across the Kennet valley.

Joining its riverside cousin, The Mitre at Hampton Court, The Retreat is the second hotel by
the acclaimed Signet Collection, and is home to 55 individually-styled bedrooms and suites,
two fantastic eating & drinking experiences, Yu; our pan-Asian restaurant and 1772, our all-day dining
Brasserie and The Signet Spa, an expansive health club with hydrotherapy pools, treatment rooms,
steam & sauna, gym, spin studio and wellness area.

Within the hotel grounds there is a walled working garden, tennis court, an outdoor
infinity pool, croquet lawn and a
children’s zone.

Classic Room. Cosy and comfortable bedrooms. Our classic rooms are intimate, but perfectly formed. A King or Queen-sized bed, and bathrooms have either a shower over bath or walk in shower. ;
Heritage Room. These are what we call our standard rooms. Each Heritage room is different and oozes warmth and comfort. Expect rich, colourful interiors and king-size beds to sink into. Bathrooms have either a shower over bath or walk in shower. Some of these rooms are Dog friendly. ;
Wessex. Similar to our Heritage Rooms, but with the added joy of charming and far-reaching views of the grounds and expansive countryside. Bathrooms have either a shower over bath or walk in shower. Some of these rooms are Dog friendly. ;
Culture Room. For those who like a bit more room. Very comfortable rooms with statement artwork and rich colour palette. Some of these rooms have dual aspect windows to make the most of the view and super king-sized beds to luxuriate in. Bathrooms have either a shower over bath of walk-in shower. ;
Family Room. Two adjoining rooms and the ideal accommodation for families. Super king-sized bed, in one room and a very stylish bunk bed for up to 2 children in the other room. Bathrooms have either a shower over bath of walk-in s hower. ;
Sutton Suite. One of our three signature suites. Incredibly grand and sumptuous suite with glorious views over the Wessex Downs. There is a gorgeous roll top bath in the bay windows of the bedroom, a separate bathroom with super king-sized bed, wonderful bathroom with twin sinks and a large walk-in shower and a comfortable seating area. The Sutton Suite also has the added bonus of a private mini-bar, as well as raiding rights to the pantry. ;
Bushby Bacon Suite. One of our three signature suites. Very spacious and opulent suite with a super king-sized bed and comfortable seating area in a large open plan room, as well as a separate adjoining room with bunk beds for the kids. The bathroom has a fabulous roll top bath in a bay window, as well as twin sinks and large walk-in shower. The Bushby Bacon Suite also has the added bonus of a private mini-bar, as well as raiding rights to the pantry. ;
Percy Shelley Suite. One of our three signature suites. A spectacular spacious suite with a very comfortable and stylish separate living room. The bedroom has a super king-sized bed and stunning roll top bath, positioned to make the most of the parkland views, and bathroom with walk in shower. The Percy Shelley Suite also has the added bonus of a private mini-bar, as well as raiding rights to the pantry. ;
Culture with Balcony. This double room is comprised of a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a private bathroom as well as a balcony with garden views. The unit has 1 bed. ;
Two Bedroom Residence Suite. The spacious suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a bath or a shower and free toiletries. This suite features a tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV with streaming services, garden views, as well as chocolate for guests. The unit has 2 beds. ;
Three Bedroom Residence Suite. The spacious suite features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a bath or a shower and free toiletries. This suite has a tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV with streaming services, garden views, as well as chocolate for guests. The unit offers 5 beds.
