Ratagan Youth Hostel - Kintail

Ratagan Youth Hostel is has a lochside location with views towards Skye. Free WiFi is provided.

This hostel offers guests a variety of room types,with USB charging points, andable to be booked as private rooms. The accommodation is split over two floors and none of the rooms are en-suite, but ample shower and washroom facilities are available.

Guests can opt for a wee breakfast served in the large dining room or take advantage of the well-equipped self-catering kitchen.

Relax with a local craft beer or glass of wine in the hostel’s comfortable lounge, while enjoying views over the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Facilities include a laundry, drying room, luggage store and secure bike shed. Basic provisions, including frozen ready meals, confectionery and soft drinks are available to purchase at reception.

Although surrounded by mountains, lochs and forests, the hostel is just off the main road, with a bus stop only 1.5 miles away making it easily accessible by public transport. Free parking is available onsite.

Ratagan is a popular choice with outdoor enthusiasts and there are a number of low-level scrambles and ridge walks within easy reach of the hostel. The garden is ideal for launching kayaks for a paddle in Loch Duich, home to porpoises, otters and seals. Eilean Donan Castle is only 8 miles away.

The hostel is also available for exclusive private rental.

The hotel day starts from hour 17:00 and ends at 10:00.

All bookings will include a temporary membership fee per person per night. (Full, existing members of Hostelling Scotland and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund).

Individual reservations (Up to 9 persons) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date. If cancelled within the 3 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged.

Groups reservations (more than 9 persons) - different policies and additional supplements will apply. More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost.

No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel.

Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hostelling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancellation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used.

From the age of 12 to 15 years, young people must be accompanied by a parent or guardian of the same gender when booking a bed within shared accommodation. Parties with children under 12 years will only be accommodated in private rooms,available.

Hostelling Scotland advise that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when travelling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodation is available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots.

Check-in from 17.00 until 22.00. Check-out from 08.00 until 10.00. The reception is closed between 10.00 until 17.00 each day. Later arrival and access outside opening hours is by pre-arrangement only.
